The following shots are part of one of the narrative, as well as performance, of our music video. We selected them because we found the lighting to be equally balanced and good. The lipsync was also done fairly well. As for the camera work, for the shots that were filmed without a tripod, these were among the more stable ones. The zoom-in is unconventional but is often seen in indie music videos which are similar to the vibe that our music video is meant to have so we decided to use it (experimentation paid off?).
These scenes had no issues with the lighting and the camera was stable in most of the shots. We also selected two shots for a match on action when she wakes and sits up on the couch. As for the dancing scenes, we recorded multiple, long clips with most of the song playing continuously while Khadijah continued to dance, and from those we selected the clips that seemed a bit more energetic (considering we had been at this since 11 am and she was pretty exhausted). We knew reshooting would be very difficult if not impossible because of our mocks being less than two weeks away and Khadijah's own art portfolio, so we tried getting as useable shots as we could. We decided to add cuts in between the dance sequence so that would allow us to get the best few seconds from the videos.
These scenes are an important element of intertextuality and performance in our music video. Also, the ones where she sits on the window sill in different positions give us nice jump cuts.
These scenes also present a conceptual aspect of our music video, with the capsules being symbolically important and the flowers being a recurring motif throughout the video.
