Since, she has now dropped Media Studies, Hira emailed me the Premiere file of the music video as well as the video itself that she edited on the 9th and then after I had requested some changes, she sent me another version on the 10th. However, due to the fact that she no longer took the subject and hence the bigger communication gap, I decided to make some remaining changes and alterations to the video myself, which included rearranging some clips and adding a different opening scene: After that I colour graded some parts of the footage to add a slight vintage effect, but not too much. I did this by adjusting the "faded film" scale in the Lumetri colours tab, and adding a slight noise effect to some clips. For some clips I downloaded a VHS overlay to get a *drumroll* VHS effect, by placing the overlay on top of the clip and setting the blend mode to "Screen". Hira started working on the editing and compiled the videos in one place. However, due to our school suddenly dropping our mock exam timetable less than three weeks before the exams, Hira and I had less and less time to meet up and work on the editing as we had initially planned. So after she had made a rough cut, I transferred the Premiere file from her laptop to mine and worked on the rough cut.  This is her working on the rough cut in school while I grace her with my presence: The first step was to organise all our selected footage into folders so that it would be easier for us to select them and import them into Premiere. It would also make locating videos according to the shotlist much easier. We divided the footage according to the locations where we shot them. This video is edited enough to be a rough cut but is too rough to be the first cut so consider it as a work in process. The lighting in these shots wasn't good, and in the second shot Khadijah rolled over too fast and her face could hardly be seen so we rejected these. The lighting again was insufficient in the first shot and the camera was very out of focus and shaky. As for the second one we forgot to put a pen with the diary and since it was part of a match on action sequence we couldn't use it.

The following shots are part of one of the narrative, as well as performance, of our music video. We selected them because we found the lighting to be equally balanced and good. The lipsync was also done fairly well. As for the camera work, for the shots that were filmed without a tripod, these were among the more stable ones. The zoom-in is unconventional but is often seen in indie music videos which are similar to the vibe that our music video is meant to have so we decided to use it (experimentation paid off?). Most of the footage from the outdoor shots were selected because we didn't really have to worry about the camera movement too much. Even though some shots could've been better in terms of the actors' expression and body language, we felt that the ones which we had were decently done for students who weren't being paid.
