 *Skips intro* I filled the background layer with black and added noise to it to maintain the consistency. Unlike adding a little bit like previously, there had to be a significant amount of grain on the inlay. In order to make the CD, I used the ellipse tool and made the outer outline, the inner rim and one more light pink circle around the inner rim. I outlined the CD with hot pink to keep up with the theme (even though in a lil while the outline will be barely visible). I added a slight outer glow effect to the circle as well to make it stand out more prominently. Next, I selected the first inlay we had made, copied it and pasted it onto this file. I moved this layer right above the outer circle layer, and below the inner two circle layers, and applied the clipping mask which made the pattern layer fit into the circle. This made the CD stand out starkly against the right inlay (which is a convention in digipaks) and also added consistency overall, especially inside the digipak. ...

  Once again, new file, same dimensions. After that I filled the background layer with black and then, using the rectangle shape tool I created multiple squares and rectangles of various sizes, of hot pink, white, light pink and purple colours. The shapes were made and placed in no particular order because that was supposed to be the point. After decades of making shapes, I added "outer glow" and in some rectangles "inner glow" effects to enhance the vibrancy and ensure it won't become dull after they were liquified. They were also supposed to stand out from the plain black background. After adding the effect to one of each coloured rectangles I copy and pasted the layer style to the others. After that, I merged all visible layers, including the black background layer, and then added a new black layer behind the merged layers. Now for the main part. For the back cover, we had the clearest idea of what to do (https://youtu.be/ZrX1XKtShSI?t=41). We had already taken the pictures for the digipak on production day 2. Fun fact: the motion blur was purely an accident and during filming and then we liked that effect and took better photos with the same camera settings (basically a very low shutter speed). Nevertheless, the image suits the theme very well in every way, including the disorientation and also including clear aspects from the music video. Same as with the front cover, I opened a new file with the dimensions 5.45" x 4.95" and then opened the selected image. I had to adjust it a bit because it was obviously way too much larger than the canvas, and then adjusted the saturation and brightness a little, since most of the work such as the contrast and hue was already cut out for us. It still looked a bit too bright on the eyes especially compared to the front cover so I added a black colour fill layer and lowered its opac...

 On today's episode of "team flaming hot cheetos is cursed", Khadijah our model backed out from the digipak photoshoot. But since we're used to things like this by now, Hira and I had already come up with a back up option. We used one of the shots from the music video that we both found to be really nice generally and also suitable for our cover. the screen capture in question I first opened the image and used the spot healing tool to fix some of the blemishes on the artist's face. Opening a new file, I set the dimensions to the standard digipak size (5.45" x 4.95"). Next, I dragged and dropped the selected image onto this file. Hira and I were conflicted between using the full face of the artist or an extreme close up on her mouth and the flower. So I made duplicate layers of the image, which I edited simultaneously so that we we would have two options to choose from at the end. First things first we decided to go for a standard 4-panel digipak, with 5.5'' x 5.5'' dimensions.  Once we got that down, we started working on rough sketch of the front and back covers, the inlay and the CD, which was not an easy task to say the least, considering the diversity in styles of indie album visuals. Front Cover We came up with two ideas after brainstorming and browsing that we thought would work well with our concept. We decided to go with the second one, which was basically a multiple exposure, close up shot of the artist. We felt that this reflected the state of mind of the character in our music video is facing, as well as the way she juggled with her past and present self and what can be inferred of her future. Basically, it represented the dilemma and the confusion that we intended to show.
